I thought this is one of the most eye-catching yet simplest manicures to do by yourselves.
The base colours for this were Clinique’s Juiced up, Splish Splash, 70° and Sunny, Pinkini and Hula Skirt, sponged with Raindrop by NYC, Barry M Passion Fruit, Barry M Prickly Pear, and Barry M Cobalt Blue.
It’s all topped off with a coat of Chalk Dust by Maybelline – which is going straight onto my next-buy list.
Maybelline’s Polka Dots Collection is a set of four glittery jelly style polishes – Rain Forest Canopy, Shooting Stars, Speckled Pink, and Chalk Dust.
Chalk Dust is an amazing clear based polish with matte black and white glitter in it. It has such a cool effect! In the bottle it looks very similar to L’Oreal’s Confetti topcoat, but seems to have more different sized glitter in it.

On it’s own, there’s not much you can say about it other than “have you been playing with paint chips and forgot to wash your hands?”. But paired together with the right base polish, it can make a dramatic difference to a boring solid coloured manicure.
This collection is definitely not available in Singapore yet, and I can’t wait for it to be. I have a nasty inkling that this won’t be launched here though.
Times like this, I’m really happy that my best friend is an air stewardess.
